About Cam Hazzard
Pro dunker out of Little Elm, Texas. 20 years old, 6’2″, 50-inch verified vertical. One of 24 dunkers in the world hand-picked by Shaq for the DunkMan League.

My Story
I’m Cameron Hazzard. I’m 20, I’m from Little Elm, Texas, and I’m one of 24 athletes Shaq picked for the DunkMan League this summer. The whole thing live-streams on TNT, with $500,000 going to whoever ends up the best dunker in the world.
Before any of that, I was just a kid obsessed with dunking. I’d try random tricks for hours and hit nothing crazy. Then I hit my first 360 windmill, and that flipped a switch.
Right after that, I went to Dunk Camp in 2023. That’s where I met Isaiah Rivera, Jordan Kilganon, Jordan Southerland, and Donovan Hawkins for the first time. Donovan is the one who really got me started. He ran a reaction episode on his YouTube channel covering subscriber dunks, I sent in some of my stuff, and he reached out and told me I was jumping too high not to be posting. That’s the moment I committed to building this on Instagram.
I started consistently posting after that. Back in November I had about 2,000 to 3,000 followers, just dunk clips with gym-bro music over them. Over Christmas break I had nothing to do, so I went all-in. Posted daily, put real effort into editing, leaned into relatable content instead of one-off trick clips, and went from 3K to 10K followers by the end of break. I’m at almost 20K now, and I know I’m just getting started.
The DunkMan League
Shaq put together a roster of the 24 best dunkers in the world. He’d been watching dunkers outside the NBA do things no NBA dunk contest had ever shown, and he wanted to figure out who’s actually the best. The league has a new scoring system meant to fix what celebrity-judged dunk contests never got right. We compete this summer, live on TNT, for $500,000. You can follow it at @dunkmanofficial.
I got the call from Shaq three days after surgery on my broken hand. I was rehabbing when my phone went off. Now I’m fully locked in. My goal is top five. Really though, I’m gunning for first.
Why I Think I Can Win
NBA players train for everything: agility, stamina, conditioning, a 48-minute game. Us dunkers, we only have to jump for one second at a time. That means we can specialize. We obsess over jumping, and we get better faster than anyone training for everything at once.
Top dunking comes down to three things: style, power, and vertical. Most dunkers have one or two. I think I’ve got all three. My best dunk right now is the 360 under both. Fewer than 10 people in the world can hit it.
Off the Court
I’m also a student at Abilene Christian University, triple-majoring in Information Systems, Accounting, and Finance. I’m a Heacock Scholar, an R.L. Money Chancellors Scholarship recipient, and I’ve made the ACU Dean’s Honor Roll every semester so far. Dunking is the dream, but I’m building the business side too.
What’s Next
This year is about DunkMan first. Top five, then push for more. After that, I’m focused on sponsorships, international contests, and growing my brand off the publicity that comes with the league. The dunking community is tight-knit and friendly right now. I’m curious what happens when there’s $500K on the line.
Don’t ignore me too long. You haven’t heard my name yet. You will.
